I always wondered why I need 8-10 hours of sleep per night to feel human, while others say they only need 4-6 hours.It seems like so much of my time is wasted sleeping. If your physician wants to evaluate you for the possible diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea, he/she will send you to a sleep laboratory. You will go to sleep, on your own, during the test. Not too many medical tests are this easy on the patient - totally pain free. Read the rest of this entry »

Glad you could join me for my first posting on my new site about sleep. Being a nightshift nurse for many years, I have seen that sleep is a big problem for many people. My patients stating to me that they can’t sleep. Do I have a sleeping pill that they can take? Others stating that sleeping pills don’t work for them or that they only last for a short period of time. These are people with chronic sleeping problems or also known as insomniacs.
